On Thursday’s Show we’ll have all your regular updates, including Local Cricket, Local Football, local Pool League roundup and Rugby League. Our live guest for the evening will be “Go Racing in Yorkshire’s” Graham Orange.

Thursday Evening Sports Preview Show – 14th April 2011

Join Gary Newbould, Phil High and Greg Sologub this Thursday evening for a roundup of all things local, national and international on the Sporting scene.

Gary and Phil will be presenting live from the Big Fellas Stadium where Featherstone Rovers take on Barrow in the Co-operative Championship in the world of Rugby League.

Greg Sologub will be back at base relfecting in the sporting action just gone a well as looking forward to the weekend ahead for our featured sporting teams.

There will also be a quiz, the predictions and what will Steve Hall have had for his tea?

Congratulations to our local Sporting Champions!

Congratulations from all at Vixen 101 to two of our local teams who clinched their respective Championships this weekend.

Courtesy of a 2-1 home win over their nearest rivals at Goodmanham Road Market Weighton United Reseves secured the Division Five title in the East Riding County League.

On the back of their 18th league win in a row Pocklington RUFC  secured the Yorkshire Division Two Title.

Dave Spikey – Live on Vixen 101 this Thursday Evening

Dave Spikey will be joining the Sports Team for a live interview this Thursday, just after 7pm. He’ll be talking about his forthcoming show when he visits York for which we’ll be giving away a pair of tickets. He’ll also be discussing his sporting links, including presenting the cult game-show “Bullseye” as well as many other funny stories.

Join the “three wise men”, Gary Newbould, Phil High and Greg Sologub for the latest sports news on the local, national and international scene. On the local front we’ll be looking ahead to see if Pocklington RUFC and Market Weighton United Reserves will be crowned Champions this weekend. Still in the world of local football Humberside Schools have something to celebrate as well.

Both Leeds United and Hull City head south to Millwall and Watford respectively still in the hunt for promotion from the Championship and fresh from their crushing victory in the South of France we look forward to Featherstone Rovers’ Northern Rail Cup Quarter Final, away at the Hunslet Hawks.

Congratulations to Pocklington RUFC and Market Weighton United Reserves Football Team

Many congratulations to two of our local featured sporting Teams. Firstly Pocklington RUFC, on the back of their 17th League win in succession have gained promotion from Yorkshire Division Two and could this weekend secure the Championship. In the world of football Market Weighton United Reserves gained promotion from the East Riding County League Division Four this weekend and they could also secure the Championship this coming Saturday.

Thursday Evening Sports Preview Show – 31st March 2011

It’s all fools eve so what better time to join Gary Newbould, Greg Solgub and Phil High for this Thursday’s Sports Preview Show!

On the local football scene, Market Weighton, Shiptonthorpe United and Holme Rovers are all playing in the East Riding County League this weekend and after the international break both Leeds United and Hull City will be trying to further their Championship promotion ambitions.

Will it be 17 league victories in a row for Pocklington in local Rugby Union as they try to secure the League title in Yorkshire Division 2?

After an excellent comeback live during last week’s show, Featherstone Rovers will be heading over the channel this weekend to take on Toulouse in the world of Rugby League.

Hopefully our International Sports correspondent Brad will be providing an update on all things Dutch (sometimes even double Dutch), there’ll be a quiz and last week it was steak and ale pie but this week what will Steve Hall have had for his tea?

Join Gary Newbould, Phil High and Greg Sologub for this week’s Thursday Evening Sports Preview Show.

We’ll be looking forward to this weekend’s action, including the Euro 2012 qualifier which sees England heading to Cardiff to take on Wales. On the local scene Market Weighton, Holme Rovers and Shiptonthorpe are in action in the East Riding County League in local football. Our local Rugby Union side, Pocklington we be trying to make it 16 league wins in a row as they take on Leodiensian at home at Percy Road. Our featured Rugby League side Featherstone Rovers are in live action during the show as they travel to The Shay for a local derby against Halifax and in Cricket we’ll be previewing England’s World Cup quarter final match against Sri Lanka.

As well as all this there will be a quiz, hopefully an update from our Chief International Sports Correspondent Brad, from Holland and what will Steve Hall have had for his tea?

Join Greg Sologub and Phil High this week as they look ahead to the weekend’s forthcoming sporting fixtures. In local football both Market Weighton and Holme Rovers are in action and on the professional scene both Leeds United and Hull City will be trying to improve their chances of promotion from the Championship. Local Rugby Union side Pocklington will be aiming to stay top of Yorkshire League 2 and our featured Rugby League Side, Featherstone Rovers will be trying to get off the mark this week in the Co-Operative Championship.

We’ll also have Horse Racing with the Chletenham Festival, World Cup Cricket, the Premier League Predictions and the question everyone wants to know on a Thursday evening,  “What has Steve Hall had for his Tea”?

Weekend Sport Update – Saturday 12th March

A pretty good weekend all round for our featured sports sides this weekend.

Pocklington RUFC go from strength to strength and remain top of Yorkshire Division 2 courtesy of an excellent 27-0 victory away at Hullensians.

Market Weighton United reserves are still 4 points clear at the top of East Riding County League Division 4, despite only drawing 1-1 with Priory Athletic at Goodmanham Road.

On the professional front, in the Championship Leeds United remain in 5th place despite a disappointing 0-0 at home to Ipswich, whilst Hull City are now only 5 points off the play-offs after an excellent 1-0 win at Coventry City.
