Games of Play Your Cards Right, a live commentary of the Pubs’ It’s a Knockout competition and judging the best of 13 Victoria sponges were key highlights of Vixen 101’s debut at the Newbald Gala.
Saturday breakfast show presenter Julian Watson hosted Vixen 101’s roadshow at the Newbald Playing Fields, while reporter Tony Barker talked to two groups of youngsters taking part in Lifestyle 2010 – Aiding Angels and Team POW - Newbald Parish Council’s chairman about life in the area, and produced reports on the final It’s a Knockout event, the tug of war which was won by The Fox and Coney of South Cave.
Tony, Julian and Bill Horncastle, presenter of The Fox’s Den, conducted the taste test of the Victoria Sponge competition. Some of these features were broadcast during Sunday’s programmes on Vixen 101.
Of the event, Julian said: “It was a beautiful day at Newbald and was an important occasion to promote the work of Vixen 101. Congratulations to the organisers on raising £2000 to help improve the playing fields.”
